Day 7: Cerda (2nd night)

IF READING ON YOUR PHONE, TILT SIDEWAYS FOR THE BEST VIEW:)

September 24, 2023: We got up the next morning and were 'confronted' with even more wonderful food! Continental breakfast is much more than we're used to in the United States. See the video for a full

explanation from our host!

It's interesting to watch what breakfast choices the other guests at our B&B make. The Australians and British tended toward only the toasts, tomatoes and spreads, the Germans seemed to prefer the grains, cereals and some meats while we Americans preferred the gluttonous "sample everything in front of you" method.

The grounds are just gorgeous and also serve as an olive orchard with many other fruit and nut trees that support the owners and also provide the basis for all of our lovely meals.

We enjoyed walking the grounds and sampling everything that seemed to be in perfect season. Not depicted were pears, grapes and plums!

This second day we spent finding another beach location entirely differnet than the first. This on was in an area with large waves where surfers could be seen braving the boarding rocks. Like the first spot, this one had chairs, umbrellas, bathroom, showers and a bar/cafe. These additions really make your time at the beach more enjoyable!

Afterward, we finally had a chance to visit the actual town of Cefalu for some shopping, lunch and wandering the narrow streets filled with people enjoying the mild weather and atmosphere. We had gotten a map and tips for parking outside of the Traffic Limitation Zone from our hostess at the previous B&B and everything from the shops to the waterfront were accessible on foot.

We had signed up for a second dinner at our B&B which had an entirely different menu than the first night. Zucchini, artichoke and eggplant were front and center with a fresh pasta and homegrown tomato sauce complimenting. The main course was a flank steak and roasted potatoes followed by homemade tiramisu. STUFFED and we didn't finish until 10pm! Goodnight:)
