Wow. Just wow. We arrived in town by 10am and after a brief struggle with the mapping application routing us through some narrow, one-way roads the wrong way, arrived at our hotel Mira Spiaggia. When we pulled up, we could not have been more happy and amazed at our hotel’s appearance and location right on the ocean-front. As we parked the car and headed inside, every bit of what we saw said, “Yes, this is going to be perfect ending to our trip.”
We entered through the patio part of the restaurant, through a coffee/sandwich/gelato shop and into the reception area where we were pleasantly surprised to find our room ready! They parked our car for us (good riddance for 3 days!) and we headed up to the ocean-view room which was, well, amazing. After stepping out on the deck for a brief view, there was no time wasted in throwing on our suits and heading down to our beach chairs and that clear blue water and white sand.
We strolled the town and grabbed a drink in the early evening and then had dinner this first
night in the hotel restaurant that I had read great reviews about. So convenient and so good! I think we had our 3rd Sicilian Cassata dessert tonight…a definite favorite!
There were some initial plans of venturing out and exploring a couple of hours East or South, but we loved this town so much that the decision was mutual to just stay and relax. More of the same the next 2 days: Sun, sand, swim, eat and repeat (well, there may have been a drink or two in there as well). Also snuck in a couple of gelatos… I mean it was right there in the hotel!
It was just a great last stop with eve
n a spa day thrown in at the end for good measure! Oh, and one more Cassata!
It’s October 4th and we made it the 1hr and 20 min drive to Palermo Airport in plenty of time for
our flight and no problem dropping off the hated Jeep — with miraculously no damage following that unfortunate narrow road situation in Savoca!
What a great and varied 2 weeks it’s been. From cities to beaches, farms, hilltop towns and back to the beach again. It honestly flew by and we certainly did NOT lose weight on this trip! Already counting the days to when we can come back to Sicily and it’s welcoming people. Ciao and thanks for reading!

Amazing beach and the water is so beautiful….the food looks wonderful!
